The Chinese Crested Dog
There is uncertainty over whether the Chinese Crested dog truly originates from China as the name suggests
or whether this interesting breed actually originated in Africa from where it was introduced elsewhere. It is
agreed though, that the Chinese Crested dog is one of the oldest breeds dating back to the 1500's or earlier.
This breed comes in two distinct types.
One is called the hairless, but it in fact does have hair on the head,
tail, and feet. It is hairless everywhere else. The other type, called the powderpuff, has a generous
coat of hair covering its entire body. Both types can exist in the same litter of puppies.
