The Dachshund can be quite independent and may not be interested in obeying commands. However, it is very loyal and affectionate. Most love to be included in all family activities, or to curl up close by while its family is watching TV. It is an intelligent easy going breed that makes an excellent companion. |

Standard: Weight range is over 11 pounds, (5 kg) usually in the range of 16 to 32 pounds (7.3 to 14.5 kg) while the height range is 8 to 10 inches (20.3 to 25.4 cm).
Miniature: Weight range is up to 11 pounds (5 kg) while the height range is 5 to 7 inches (12.7 to 17.8 cm).
