The English Setter Dog
The English Setter dog originates from Great Britain, dating back to the 14th century. Its ancestry likely includes the Spanish Pointer and the Springer Spaniel among others. Today's English setters are largely a result of breeding efforts by Edward Laverack and later by Purcell Llewellin. The English Setter dog is fairly popular in both Great Britain and North America.
