The German Shepherd Dog

Picture of German Shepherd Dog courtesy of Dawn Knelson.

The German Shepherd dog originates from Germany dating back to the 1800's. It is one of the most popular breeds in the world. Unfortunately, indiscriminate breeding has introduced some physical and behavioural problems. If obtaining a new German Shepherd, check carefully to ensure that it comes from a reputable breeder. German shepherds that are well bred are mostly even tempered, obedient and attentive.
