The Irish Terrier Dog

The Irish Terrier dog, as the name suggests originates from Ireland. It may be gentle and loving with it's master, but it is fierce, bold, and furious with vermin or other dogs that it deems a threat. It has a long body and longer legs than the other terriers. In the late 1800's and early 1900's it was quite popular in Great Britain as well as North America. It was also popular as a watch dog and messenger in World War I. Since that time its numbers have dropped, and today it is one of the rarer breeds to be seen.
