The Miniature Schnauzer Dog
The Miniature Schnauzer dog originates from Germany where it was first used as a ratter or farm dog.
Its ancestry includes the Standard Schnauzer, the Affenpinscher,and the Poodle.
The word schnauzer means small beard, an apt description for this breed.
It has become one of the
more popular dogs in North
America having surpassed the other Schnauzers (the standard and the giant). It makes an attractive and likeable
companion or show dog.
It can be strong willed and benefits from firm, patient, and consistent obedience training. It is very people oriented and loves to be included in all family activities. Inclusion is will be met with genuine enthusiasm!

It is a clever dog that is quite even tempered and agreeable. It is energetic, playful and inquisitive. It is not as aggressive as most terriers but it will chase other dogs and pets if encouraged. It makes a well mannered, though sometimes stubborn, house dog that loves to receive attention. |
