| Temperament |
It is a gentle and affectionate dog that can be possessive of its owner. It is calm and obedient, and is not as excitable as some of the other toy dogs. It is lively and playful, always enjoying a game or romp with it's family. |

| Living Conditions |
Ideal for apartment or urban living but will do fine in the wide open spaces of a rural setting. The Papillon cannot tolerate cold or extreme heat. It is not suited for outdoor living. |

The Papillon has an ample silky coat that is mainly white but has some brown/black patches. |
