The Pembroke Welsh Corgi Dog
The Pembroke Welsh Corgi dog originates from Wales. There is uncertainty as to how far back this dog's origins reach, but many speculate that it originates back to 1100 or 1000. It is the smallest dog in the herding group. One distinguishing characteristic is that it lacks a tail. Although it is similar to and shares a common ancestry with the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, it was developed separately in Pembrokshire Wales. In the recent past it had been favored by royalty including King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II of England. Today it remains a popular breed world wide.
